VPN connection problem Troubleshooting on iOS devices

SimpleLink’s iOS app is developed to be work in 99% of devices with just a simple tap on the switch.

However, if you still face some VPN connection problem, please follow this checklist. You shall be able to solve 99% of connection problem on your iOS device:

  1. Make sure you allow(add) SimpleLink to manage your VPN service on your iPhone/ iPad after you install the app.
  2. Make sure you close all the other VPN apps in the background, otherwise it’s very probable to have conflicts between VPNs.
  3. Make sure you connect to 4G/5G in case wifi doesn’t work.
  4. Make sure you use Route: Smart mode.
  5. Make sure you current plan is still valide, not expired, check User Center.
  6. Check your remaining date. Make sure it’s not 0.00
  7. Make sure your VIP level is not 0, because that means you plan is expired.
  8. Make sure you are not using the same account in the devices more than you are allowed.
  9. Then swipe up to start VPN connection.
  10. You shall see a VPN icon pop out, and when you start navigate internet, you shall see there is speed info pop up.

You may find some common problem and their solution below:

  • I can’t get VPN connected after swiping up. What should I do?
  • 1. Make sure your iOS version is higher than iOS 14, if not, please upgrade your iOS system. 2. Make sure you have allowed (added) SimpleLink to manage your VPN service on your device after you swipe up. 3. Make sure you close all the other VPN apps in the background, otherwise it’s very probable to have conflicts between VPNs. 4. Please connect to 4G/5G in case wifi doesn’t work. 5. Please contact customer support if it still does not work after trying the above.

  • After I swipe up to connect, the switch keeps showing trying-to-connect animation, but can’t really get connected
  • This is a bug of iOS system and due to not enough memory allocated to iOS VPN extension, please restart your iPhone and try again. If it still doesn’t work, please reinstall the Simple app and try again.

  • VPN is connected. However, there is no traffic.
  • 1. Check Menu=> My Account, and make sure your current plan is still valid, not expired. Check your remaining data. Make sure it’s not 0.00GB or negative. 2. Make sure your VIP level is not 0, which means your subscription has expired. 3. Make sure the number of devices you are using at moment is not over the limit.

  • I bought a subscription, but still can’t connect. And some problems I just don’t know how to describe and what to do.
  • Most of the problem can be solved by clicking the refresh button on the top right of the home screen. If the problem remains, please delete and then reinstall Simple. If still not work, please contact customer support.

  • Error: Connection reset by peers / ConnectException error continues to appear after refreshing the App.
  • This error may be caused by too frequent requests to the Simple server, which results in the IP being blocked temporarily. Please disconnect the Wi-Fi and switch to a 5G and try again.

  • If you can’t load third parties (Airports) proxies in your Clash Premium screen.
  • This is a free function, so we try our best to adapt all Clash config file, but we can not ensure all Clash config yaml file is readable by Simple’s Clash core.
